PLAYBILL: See Who's Starring in Industry Reading of New Musical Silk

Kenneth Ferrone is directing the musical penned by Chilina Kennedy, Daniel Edmonds, and Eric Holmes.

Art Lab will offer an industry presentation of the new musical Silk September 5 in Cape Cod in partnership with the College Light Opera Company.

Created by Meg Fofonoff, with music and lyrics by Chilina Kennedy and Daniel Edmonds, and a book and additional lyrics by Eric Holmes, Silk follows Denise, a young woman from the country, who attempts to survive in Paris at the turn of the century. There, she comes head-to-head with Mouret, the owner of the world’s first department store. 

The cast of the reading will feature Bridget Beirne, Ris Bland, Jessica Bloomberg, Bella Bosco, Gwen Calderbank, Kennedy Caughell, Nick Cearley, Emmalee Anita Diaz, Isabella Esler, Callum Francis, Jake Bryan Guthrie, Christian Leigh, Álvaro Medina, Emma Mize, and Jennifer Sánchez. Kenneth Ferrone directs.

Denise Savas serves as stage manager with LDK Productions as general manager. Art Lab Productions (Meg Fofonoff and Megan Chacalos) is the producer.
